Control Tactics
Academic Credit* | Registration | Reporting Instructions | Transcripts
This course will make the student proficient in control and arrest tactics. The student will become familiar with the Use of Force Model used by the Institute and will undergo Institute “mindset” training as taught to all students of basic strategy and tactics.
A segmented drill and rotation system of training developed at the Institute will insure student proficiency in control tactics. Tactics will be taught to provide students with the ability to deal with differing circumstances.

- Use of Force Model Training
- Mindset Training
- Control Tactics for Resistive and Assaultive Subjects
- Handcuffing Techniques for Differing Circumstances
- Segmented Drill Rotation System
Master Control Tactics Instructor certification requires completion of the following courses: Control Tactics*, Control Tactics Instructor, and the Master Control Tactics Instructor Apprenticeship Program.
* The Control Tactics course will not need to be taken if the PTI Basic Law Enforcement Course has been succesfully completed within the past year.
