Course Description

This is a train-the-trainer course designed to teach control tactics end-users to become proficient instructors using the Police Training Institute’s control and arrest tactics.  Officers will learn to utilize the Use of Force Model in their lessons.  Students will also learn how to use step-by-step breakdowns of each technique and then work these techniques into specifically designed training drills.  Students will be given the opportunity to teach these skills under the guidance of one of the Police Training Institute’s Primary Control Tactics Instructors.

Requirements

To be accepted into the Control Tactics Instructor program students must have either graduated from the Police Training Institute within the previous two years or successfully completed the one week Control Tactics Instructor course.

Course Description

 

This course gives the experienced Control Tactics Instructor an opportunity to “fine-tune” their control tactics and teaching skills.  Instructors will be updated on any changes that have occurred in the Police Training Institute’s Control Tactics program.  Instructors will be given time to work with one of PTI’s primary instructors one-on-one, as well as spend time on the mats assisting in the training of the current Basic Law Enforcement class.

 Requirements

To become a Master Control Tactics Instructor the Instructor must be a certified Control Tactics Instructor for two years.  Once the Instructor has gone through this two day course it will be necessary to recertify every two years to keep this status.
