		The University of Illinois Police Training Institute requires a professional working environment where all employees can enrich themselves and contribute to the synergy directed at achieving our mission. We are truly committed to the philosophical triad of duty, honor, and service for our students, staff, and instructional staff. Preparing our students to be leaders and professionals in the ever more important peace keeping function is the focus of all Institute efforts. The impact of our students on communities throughout Illinois reflects positively on the University of Illinois and the Police Training Institute. Those chosen to teach at the Institute are on the leading edge in developing new and innovative strategic approaches that enable peace officers to assist their communities in maintaining ordered and safe societies. Applied research producing new and more effective teaching methods is an important part of the Institute’s mission. Graduating officers with the knowledge and skills required for decision making in an increasingly complex working environment is a challenge that can only be met through a constant search for new and better methods.
